Trip To The End of The Road

This is where we went snorkeling without our camera on Saturday.  So today (Monday) we went back to take some pictures.  This was our third snorkeling "expedition" and we finally felt like we were getting the hang of it.  We floated around for about 45 minutes looking at all the underwater wonders and felt relatively comfortable.

I think the camera person has nice feet.

Man those lava rocks are hard!

After snorkeling, we continued on to the end of the road along the south-western shoreline. We drove over a 1700's lava flow until we came to another preserve.  Luckily a road (of sorts) had been built over the lava rocks.  This is a place to snorkel, go swimming, or lay on a towel - if you care to.

Cool breezes by the ocean - hard to lay on a towel, though.

The scene from the road where the lava spilled into the ocean .

Our rental car on the rocky road.

                                                            A flower among the rocks.

Before we left to go snorkeling at 8 AM, we reserved prime seats at the pool at 7:15 AM!  We hung out here after our trip to the end of the road.  The tourists in Maui are very friendly.
                                                                  The water was nice!

  1. Looks like fun, and we like your little red car. Take it from me, you'll never want any other color.
